Royal College of Art students unveil Olympics 2012 designs

Students and graduates of the Royal College of Art (RCA) have worked with London 2012 Olympics over the past eight months to design the official London 2012 Victory Ceremonies podia and ceremonial costumes.

Tom Crisp (MA Fashion Menswear, 2012), Trine Hav Christensen (MA Fashion Womenswear, 2012) and Zara Gorman (MA Fashion Womenswear – Millinery, 2010) created the ceremonial costumes to be worn by approximately 100 female Games Maker volunteer athletes and presenter escorts and 200 male Games Maker volunteer flower and medal bearers.

Forty podia, designed by Gaetano Ling (MA Innovation Design Engineering (IDE), 2011), Hong-Yeul Eom (MA IDE, 2011), Luc Fusaro (MA IDE, 2012), Heegun Koo (MA IDE, 2011) and Yan Lu (MA IDE, 2011), will be used across all the Victory Ceremonies and approximately 4,400 athletes will stand on them to receive their victory medals.
