A Danish newspaper has created a ‘mash-up’ where professional journalists compete with amateur bloggers to get their stories on the front page. The website (Avisen.dk) allows anyone access to its homepage where stories are displayed irrespective of provenance. Stories are then ranked on the basis of ‘most read’ and ‘most debated’. So far only the professionals get paid but this could change in the future.
