What would you do with Osama's body?

By Sean Maguire

After a statement from Barack Obama, it's official that terrorist-in-chief Osama bin Laden has been killed by U.S forces. A joyous day to be sure, but there has to be one question that Obama has to answer quickly and clearly.

What are they going to do with the body of the world's hide-and-seek champion (2001-2011)?

For me the most obvious choice for the superpower that was humiliated for a decade, would be to stuff him, put him in a grovelling stance and position him in front of the site of the World Trade Centres.

There would be a beautiful poetry to that, but we want to hear from you.

So the question today is: what would you do with the personification of the United States' greatest failure?

Killin' Osama the unarmed
4 may  |  So it turns out that Osama, the world's most wanted outlaw, wasn't treated to a fair fight by his cowboy vanquishers. No siree. No ten paces at noon or nothing, a plain and simple cold blooded killin'. Seems kind of weird to me - by Sean Maguire . . read more
Obit to Osama: May his rest give us peace
3 may  |
Born with a mind prone to perversion, Osama bin Laden was perhaps the biggest icon of the last decade. No other man has influenced the world, both socially and politically, as much as he did. A common presence in terrorist discourse, his greatest achievements include killing thousands of people, redefining and popularising the word "jihad" into the English lexicon and damaging the reputation of his faith for years to come. Fond of living in unreachable alcoves in unknown locations, Osama has had an everlasting effect on the minds of his contemporaries - by Sumer Dayal (UNSW, Sydney

Obama migration overhaul and arbitrary Osama
11 may  |  By Sean Maguire

Obama has announced today that he is going to work hard to ensure that people won't be able to get in to the States so easily - Sarah Ferguson apparently empathises with the illegals.

He assures us his migrant 'overhaul' won't be arbitrary and that the government will try to make sure that it will only be unskilled workers that get deported so that lowly paid jobs can be filled up by millions of unemployed Americans.

America's rich are unsure whether to celebrate.

José wont be cleaning their pool anymore but Joseph down the road will have less reason to rob them.

Osama's sons have reacted negatively to the news, saying that Obama's policies are never arbirtrary and that their father was executed without attempting to send him to trial.

Obama commented that it wouldn't have made any difference because if they looked at Arizona's immigration policies and Guantanamo, they would see that political prisoners never get a fair trial in the U.S of A.

What do you think of Obama's new immigration plan? Is he just pandering to Latino voters? And was Osama arbitrarily targeted? Tell us and remember....Disqus!

Cutting the head off LimeWire
14 may  |  By Sean Maguire

Today it has been announced that LimeWire will be forced to pay $105mil to the music industry; effectively ending them as a destroyer of copyright, file sharing and children's morals.

A statement by the U.S government says "that they are pleased with the result and are happy to add one more to the tally of pirates killed in the last month".

Dr. Peter Cancion-Ladrón from Durham University has come out and said that like al-Qaeda, this may only represent the death of a figurehead and that musical piracy is like a hydra - cut a head off and another will quickly grow in its place.

George W. Bush was shaken at hearing this news and asked "so, how many heads does terrorism have now?"

Osama bin Laden: the personification and symbol of evil is dead
2 may  |  Osama bin Laden has been confirmed dead by President Barack Obama - sparking wild celebrations in Washington D.C and a sense that a long drawn-out chapter in world history has finally come to a close. So as practical questions of what will happen to his body, how/if al-Qaeda will retaliate and whether his killers will become famous remain unanswered; perhaps it's time to begin asking some more conceptual ones: such as, what will this symbolically mean for the U.S? - By Sean Maguire  . . read more
Laden's SEALs need hiding, Facebook knows what to do
13 may  |  By Stephen Myles

Today it has been announced by Defense-Secretary Robert Gates that security is being stepped up to protect the Navy SEALs who killed Osama Bin Laden.

The challenge has been picked up by Facebook who assures them that if they get an account with them that their privacy will be assured, as opposed to Google who Facebook tells us leaks information to the authorities.

Julian Assange has told us that Facebook is actually the bad guy and that when WikiLeaks gets the identities of the SEALs he'll reveal them immediately, along with the identity of Santa which he says he's been sitting on for months.

A spokesmen from the Navy said that the SEALs "were as happy as Mel Gibson who is apparently back in the 'beaver', and that they just wanted more fish and places to frolic".
