Radiohead: no ‘Limbs’ sequel
Radiohead: no ‘Limbs’ sequel

Radiohead - Lotus Flower by h0nki

The hopes of Radiohead quickly releasing a sequel to King of Limbs, mirroring the quick-fire release of Amnesiac less than a year after Kid A, have been dashed by guitarist Ed O’Brien.

Conspiracy theorists had pointed to the lyrics of the album’s final track Separator “And if you think this is over/Then you’re wrong” suggesting that the song would act as a ‘separator’ two releases and suggested that as the pre-ordered copies of the album will arrive on two clear 10” vinyl records there’s room for more King of Limbs songs on the records.

However O’Brien says that “There are [other] songs that we have started, that we never finished, but there’s not like seven or eight finished songs waiting in the wings to be released now, or in the autumn, or something… When we start a new record, we tend to start afresh. It’s kind of an evolutionary thing – only the fittest survive.”

When "Sgt Pepper's", the Beatles' most ambitious album at the time, was released it's said that you could walk around Swinging London and hear splinters of the songs from every apartment and house you passed.

Sometimes Even Free Is Overpriced
5 oct  |  Music industry insider ROGER ROGER believes music should be free. Radiohead don’t go far enough. Rather than an honesty box system for people to contribute to in order to hear their new album, if they really want to put an appropriate value on the transaction, they’d have a mechanism where they would pay me! Their musical career started off with all the excitement of the Death March and gradually worked its way down to the level of Yes. . . read more
