Rather than discuss the technical and grammatical differences between these two groups, reflect on the fervor of which certain religious affiliates approach their spirituality.
The reason cults are dangerous is because of the power that ideas hold. Similarly, while the majority of those who practice religion are relatively harmless, there is always the presence of certain groups that will act upon ideas to the detriment of society.
What really angers me about this is that they rally, protest and politically maneuver themselves for what they percieve as the betterment of society. Blindly following a set of unchangeable beliefs purely because they exist and gradually impinging upon others.
Step back a minute, and rethink this strategy, it hasn't worked before, and the reason anti religious sentiment appears to be more present in the modern day is because it is, because the behaviour of a very present and growing minority is getting pretty fucking annoying.
